Question Title The breakline is rusted...the aluminum one???

Question:
I have a 91 Corsica.  The breakline is rusted...the aluminum one???  I had a friend give my car a complete tune-up.  When he saw the break fluid was empty he checked the breakline.  I believe he said it was the aluminum or bendable breakline that was rusted.  A patch job was not advised. I need to get my car towed to a place to get this fixed. My concern is that I know nothing about car repair.  I also don't know a reliable honest place to take the car.  Can you advise me?  I called a few places and they cannot give me an estimate on the cost...they say they need to see it.  With the cost of tows...or the risk of using all my AAA tows in a matter of days...I need more info.  Such as, estimate on price...where should I go?  I know the breakline is not an expensive piece as my friend was going to purchase one to do it himself...but the damage was too much and it needs to be taken in.  Anyway, any info you can give me will be helpful.  I have found that chains like Midas and Tireman are very expensive.

Answer:
The brake line on your 1991 Chevy Corsica is steel and not aluminum. That is why it rusted. It is hard to give an estimate on a broken brake line without seeing it as it is hard to tell what exactly needs to be done. AAA owns and operates three full service auto repair facilities. You may call any one of them or call for your tow and ask that your vehicle be towed there. You will find that our labor rates are lower than most and you will receive a 10% discount on labor. We are not the cheapest place in town and definitly not the most expensive.
