Lifesaving Award
This award recognizes safety patrol members for a heroic and selfless lifesaving act. The Lifesaving Award is the highest honor a Safety Patroller can receive. A National Review Board selects medal recipients from nominated candidates. Medal recipients will attend a national award ceremony in Washington, D.C., in April.

Meet Meredith Engel: AAA Northwest Ohio’s 2009-2010 Safety Patroller of the Year!
AAA Northwest Ohio is excited to announce that Meredith Engel, a member of the Put-in-Bay School Safety Patrol in Put-in-Bay, Ohio, was selected as the 2009-2010 AAA Northwest Ohio Safety Patroller of the Year!
This highest honor recognizes her commitment to safety, leadership and citizenship. Meredith, along with her father and a AAA representative joined other Patrollers of the Year and Lifesavers from across the country to celebrate in Washington, D.C., from April 19-21, 2010.
Their trip included an evening monument tour, a VIP visit to the FBI field office, a scavenger hunt in the Smithsonian Mall and the AAA Traffic Safety Awards Ceremony.

The AAA Northwest Ohio Safety Patrol Scholarship is open to any high school senior who served as a AAA School Safety Patroller in Northwest Ohio. Applicants must show documented proof of AAA Northwest Ohio Safety Patrol participation, good academic standing and a strong record of participation in community and extracurricular activities.

2012 AAA Northwest Ohio School Safety Patrol Scholarship
Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to graduating
seniors who served as AAA School Safety Patrol members
in Northwest Ohio. Students must provide documentation
of services for AAA Northwest Ohio Safety Patrol, good
academic standing and a strong record of community
participation and extracurricular activities.
AAA Northwest Ohio is dedicated
to the safety of our school's students. For over 90
years, AAA has sponsored the safety patrol program,
which helps thousands of students from area schools
to safely travel to and from school every
day. In addition to providing supplies and equipment
for over 3,500 safety patrollers in our eight-county
service area, we also host special appreciation events
each year for the patrollers. This is just our small
way of saying thank you. We strongly believe in the
motto: "School
Safety Patrol: Tomorrow's Leader's Today!"
The AAA Northwest Ohio Safety Patrol Scholarship is
open to any high school senior who served as a AAA
School Safety Patroller in northwest Ohio. Applicants
must show documented proof of AAA Northwest Ohio Safety
Patrol participation, good academic standing and a
strong record of participation in community and extracurricular
activities. Applications are reviewed by a AAA Northwest
Ohio committee. Two recipients will be chosen to receive
a $1,000 scholarship to use towards higher education
studies.
